JomSocial and Joomla CMS help to initiate conversations
JomSocial is a perfect tool for meeting the demands of the marketplace and our overall shift in cultural interaction notably called “socialeconomics”. I have been reading a great new book by this title and in it there are many fascinating examples of how our society, now plagued with multi-tasking and the pace of a race car on the finishing lap, is using social media to “knock of several birds with a single stone” sort of speak. I recently started a new social community as a tool to centralize information about some of my views and those that I have collected about Public Education. The idea was to build conversations around topics that can help folks better understand not only what is at stake but perhaps where they can contribute their ideas and creativity in a way that can have impact on the end game. This www.givetoed.org community allows folks to interact with most of the popular social networking and community collaboration tools in a way that remains personal yet captures the spirit of teamwork.

I was poking around on a discussion in one of my linked in groups and this interesting question came up;
"Does CRM 2.0 have the same meaning or definition of social CRM?
What are the major challenges facing social implementation? and what factors may influence the customers to use social CRM?"

The boom of Social Media is giving Twitter an explosive impact in the marketplace
Since coming into the twitter world, I have to say this has been a great experience. I have learned a ton so far on so many levels. First, I have vastly expanded my circle of folks for sharing ideas and information. This has introduced me to a ton of great blogs and articles from other thought leaders
in the industry. It has pushed me to articulate my own ideas more frequently and to expand the focus of my blog and subsequently the services and consulting support we offer. Having talked to many customers, most have yet to fully get the reasons why Twitter is becoming so popular nor do they see why they should be embarking on this journey for their business. Social media platforms such as facebook and myspace are a lot easier to look at and say "oh I get it", it is a community. Twitter is a bit simpler technically in concept as a extended chat conversation with a community of folks. However it is not as easy to see up front how you can connect with customers since if you just promote products it is typically much harder to get a base of followers.

Internet marketing may be the key to the success of your web site's bottom line. However, before you embark on internet marketing you must make sure you have assessed who you are communicating to why you are communicating and how you plan to do so.
Asking the right questions: One of the key main reasons folks build a web site is to connect with people or to communicate a message to an audience. Of course there are many ways this can take form and many tools to achieve your goals but the first questions many folks forget to ask are: Why am I doing this? Who am I trying to communicate with? How does this site add value to my audience?
Listen Carefully: Once you have gone through asking the right questions and build out your site you will have to remember that if you want to have your message heard you have to listen and respond to your users or visitors as well.
